The Sziget festival in Hungary is one of the biggest, longest and, internationally broadest festivals in Europe. Last year half a million people, from a hundred different places, payed a visit to the festival island on the Donau. (‘Sziget’ means ‘island’ in Hungarian, so that explains it.) The line-up of the 25th edition (9-16 Aug) is, honestly, once again phenomenal.
Just so you can start enjoying yourself at home, here are a couple of names from the gigantic amount of bands that will be performing at Sziget. And remember; it doesn’t matter if your name is PJ Harvey, John Smit or George Ezra, everyone started practicing at home. Just like you. Everyone is a musician. Hit it!
Kasabian
PJ Harvey
The Kills
Interpol
De Staat
George Ezra
Birdy
The Vaccines
