We can already see 2021’s finish line through the autumn fog, as we’re barreling towards the end of yet another year. The last few months of 2021 will definitely be anything but boring, as many big names have taken it upon themselves to release new music.

Rocktober

Ed Sheeran and Adele are dropping new music for the first time in years, Taylor Swift is re-recording her old albums and in a plot twist that surely no one saw coming for 2021, we can expect new ABBA music this week. So, why don’t we take a breather and cast a look back at the songs that ruled October – or as it’s better known here at Chordify: Rocktober!

Ed Sheeran & Adele

The aforementioned Adele and Ed Sheeran are both featured in October’s Top 10, with the former snatching the #1 spot. Her new single “Easy On Me” is quintessential autumn music. A perfect piano ballad that makes you want to curl up in a blanket and maybe shed a few tears for a summer that is now long gone.

Meanwhile, perhaps in anticipation of his new album Equals that was released last week, Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” has re-entered the list. We have a feeling we might be seeing a lot more of him in the next issue of our Top 10. Stay tuned.

Coldplay

Elsewhere, we see the return of Coldplay’s “The Scientist”. The ballad is one of the most popular songs here at Chordify, especially amongst piano players. It’s understated and melancholic, with lyrics that are as simple as they are profound. It’s yet another one of those songs that just scream Autumn.
