It’s here again! Your monthly trip around the world where we list the most played songs on every continent. In Europe we find all the Top 5 hits that have been popular for months now: “Dance Monkey,” “Shallow,” “Memories,” “Let Her Go” and “Blinding Lights.” Proper songs to impress your upcoming summer lovers.
In North America, stay-at-home protocols are reflected by a completely new list of Top 5 hits, with songs from TikTok, Netflix and RuPaul’s Drag Race. The only exception are Daniel Caesar and H.E.R. with “Best Part,”which came out on top once again! The Canadian singer-songwriter released this song in 2017, featuring the American singer H.E.R., and we are still thankful for their juicy R&B vibes.
It may feel like a long time ago, but South America’s Top 5 reminds us that we celebrated Mother’s Day in May! We find the beautiful song “Gracias Mama” at number three. For Africa, May has been a month of contemplation, demonstrated by a Top 5 where three out of five are songs of praise.
