Open Chord

Especially for stringed instruments like a guitar or ukulele, an open chord is a chord where one or more strings are not pressed. For example, when you play an E minor in standard tuning, you’re only pressing two strings (the 2nd frets of the A and D strings) and the rest of the strings are ‘open’, making it an open chord.
