Did we leave the winter behind already? Oh yes we did! Spring is here, and we want to make the best of it. So here are four ways to get in shape for some outdoor jamming, from finger exercises to easy songs. Have a good one.

Get your hands ready to rumble

Are your fingers stiff as a board? Winter tends to have this effect on your hands, but no worries. Just like working out in the gym helps your body to get in shape, doing some finger exercises will get those fingers running over the keys or frets of your instrument in no time.

Our “Finger Fitness” series is your go-to when it comes to building up strength, coordination and flexibility for your hands and fingers. Check out the piano, ukulele, and guitar exercises that we worked out for you. To make it even better, we use sheet music, video tutorials, and tabs to make it easier to follow.

Stay focussed

Having some trouble to free up some time to jam? We feel your pain. Here’s the bad news, our algorithm can’t make your days longer. The good news is that creating some easy to achieve goals will. Playing music is good for stress and anxiety, and most of all it’s fun.

To help you get the most out of your jamming, we wrote a few blog posts on how to create mini-habits that will turn into routines that stick. Spoiler alert! This is not rocket science. It’s actually fun to do, because in a few weeks time you’ll see how a few minutes a day will slowly transform into a routine for life. Just give it a go.

Update your spring setlist with some classics

Some songs are one day flies, others are instant classics from the moment they hit the public. In our “Songs Explained” series, you’ll find the latter. These are great songs that are very popular on Chordify, and would be a cool addition to your spring setlist. To make these tracks easier to learn for everybody, we just dove right in and dissected them.

If you love that country chord sound – and Lynyrd Skynyrd in particular – then “Sweet Home Alabama” is the right track for your spring setlist. In search of more pop classics? Try out “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. The list of songs we explain from beginning to end goes from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Billie Eilish, and Radiohead
