Bad Bunny returns with Grupo Frontera
Miley remains #1 in this month’s top 10 songs of April – so let’s check out the new entries. At number 6, Bad Bunny returns to the top 10 with a collaborative hit alongside Grupo Frontera.
The track un x100to is quite an emotive ballad, with a melancholy vibe throughout the vocal and instrumental melodies. Though there isn’t much harmonic variation in the song, it features some interesting chords in the progression, and they will provide some good practice for improving dexterity. Indonesian surf rock from The Panturas
As we’ve seen over recent months, Indonesian bands are popular with the Chordify community – think of Rub of Rub, Nanoe Biroe and The Jansen. This continued with the new entry at number 7 in this month’s top 10 from The Panturas.
Similar to some of the Indonesian bands we’ve covered in the past, their track Jim Labrador is upbeat and full of energy, with punk and surf rock sounds – it’s a cool track which really brings a fun energy to the listener. The chords are pretty straightforward so everyone can try this – have a listen and jam along here.
Gerardo Coronel enters the top 10
We welcome Mexican singer Gerardo Coronel to the top 10 for the first time this month. The track Qué onda Perdida has Mexicana vibes, which you immediately pick up on from the trumpet melody, and there’s a lot of different instrumentation too which gives the track interesting elements and dynamics alongside the vocals.
Behind this, the chord progression is quite busy and keeps moving, and there’s some great vocal harmonies for the chorus. This is definitely a nice choice to jam along with, but give those fingers a stretch first to prepare yourself for some trickier chords. Check out the song here.
