The results are in – the 2024 GRAMMYs were full of surprises and expected winners once more.

We will shine a light on the shortlisted nominees and those who took the trophies home last night. Of course we have also curated a special GRAMMYs 2024 setlist with all the nominees, so you can play along and get inspired!

In this GRAMMYs 2024 blog post you’ll find:

The year of Miley

It was definitely a good year for Miley Cyrus, to say the least. Her eighth studio album Endless Summer Vacation was released in March to commercial and critical acclaim, being included in the list of nominees for album of the year. Of course this album included the huge hit Flowers, undoubtedly one of the most popular tracks of 2023, which was nominated in the song of the year and record of the year categories.

The songwriting team behind Flowers (Gregory Aldae Hein, Michael Pollack + Cyrus) really crafted a classic modern pop song, with an unmistakable, catchy chorus hook.

So it was a historic moment for her last night, winning her first Grammy for record of the year! We could not get it out of our heads last year, and apparently you couldn’t either – as we mentioned in our top 10 songs of 2023 blog, Flowers was the most played track on Chordify in 2023. Amazing to see.

The quiet winner of the night

American indie supergroup Boygenius released their debut studio album The Record, which received critical acclaim and earned them nominations in two of the biggest categories. The group is made up of singer-songwriters Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus.

Their successful year was followed up by an impressive three wins at the GRAMMYs last night! They came out on top in the best alternative music album, best rock song and best rock performance categories.

Bridgers was the artist who actually took home more GRAMMYs than anyone this year – alongside the three awards shared with Boygenius, she was a featured artist on SZA’s Ghost In The Machine as they won the best pop duo/group performance. She truly cleaned up across the categories.

Another new star on the horizon is Victoria Monét, who took home the Grammy for best new artist. An amazing achievement from an emerging talent!

One winner that also featured regularly in our top 10 songs of the month articles throughout 2023 was of course Billie Eilish. She took home a total of 2 GRAMMYs last night, including the prestigious song of the year with her track What Was I Made For? from the Barbie movie soundtrack.

Uncover hidden gems

Whilst most of us are familiar with the bigger artists who have been nominated for the mainstream categories such as record and album of the year, the GRAMMYs does also provide a platform to discover acclaimed tracks in less common categories.

From country to Christian music, and latin pop to blues or gospel, there is a huge diversity of music nominated for Grammy awards, and these artists can provide a completely different vibe to the likes of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.

This is really the beauty of an award ceremony such as the GRAMMYs; it celebrates the rich tapestry of music and the wide range of genres it encompasses on a global scale.

We enjoyed the show a lot and hope that you could find some inspiration to jam along with, inside or outside of your comfort zone. We are here to cheer you on, our stage is always reserved for you. Check out our GRAMMYs 2024 setlist here. Happy jamming!
