Woodstock – Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

If we all go out on the street and play, it’s going to be like a world wide Woodstock. To prepare you for this we created a Make Music Day channel. Check it out and get inspired. And since we’re talking about Woodstock here’s a little tune to emphasise this.

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young’s classic is a perfect match. Moreover, it is an incredibly basic song that provides a nice jam for both beginners and advanced guitar players. Check out the chords to “Woodstock” here.

I’m Going Home – Ten Years After

Do you want something more challenging than the Am, D, C and G used in the song above? In that case, “I’m Going Home” by Ten Years After may be a good choice for your Make Music Day jam. This track has a few chords for the advanced beginner. If you’re a pro, you can try to figure out the solo riff. Whatever you do, grab your instrument quickly and start practicing the song here.

Blue Moon – Sha Na Na

If you are somewhere between a beginning and an advanced guitarist, then this is a nice track for you. “Blue Moon” by Sha Na Na covers all the basic chords. Although the chord progression seems very simple at first, the finger movements have a blistering pace. Try it out yourself and play along with “Blue Moon” by Sha Na Na.

I Can See Clearly Now – Johnny Nash

We conclude this Make Music Day warm-up article with a real evergreen that you can always use, regardless of the company you’re in. Everyone loves to sing “I can see clearly now the rain is gone!” at the top of their lungs. Don’t take that feeling away from your audience and grab your instrument now to start practicing Johnny Nash’s “I See Clearly Now” for Friday. Happy jamming!
