Welcome to 2024 everyone, and Happy New Year! It flew by, and now it’s time to reveal the top 10 songs of 2023. Read on to look back at the most popular songs on Chordify over the year and find some musical inspiration for the new year. Happy jamming!

Consistent Chordify classics

It’s definitely been a year of familiarity amongst the Chordify community – there’s a number of tracks making up the top 10 songs of 2023 which have featured high on the monthly lists throughout the year. You can’t get enough of these classics!

Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and R.E.M. are just a few of the artists responsible – their perennial hits have been a consistent source of jamming inspiration, which is great to see. There’s some interesting chord progressions across these tracks of course, and a lot of great hooks which make them so memorable. Check these tracks out for a reliable jam and see what all the fuss is about!

Cean Jr. finishes highly

Filipino artist Cean Jr. became very popular with the Chordify community in 2023, with his track YK reaching number 6 on the top 10 list.

Amongst other huge tracks which include billions of streams, YK has landed a high spot in the top 10 songs of 2023. It’s great to see lesser known artists making the top songs of the year, and it’s easy to see why Cean Jr. has been an ever present.

The chord progression in YK only features 4 chords, with the chord voicings and guitar embellishments bringing the progression to life. Once the melodic qualities of the chords are combined alongside the vocals and synths, this produces a really effective sound that engages the listener.

There’s a nice relaxed vibe to the track and it’s a good song for all ability levels. Additionally it makes for a great chord sequence to jam/solo with too – have a listen to YK by Cean Jr. here.

Landing the top spot

And the big reveal. Taking the top spot for the top 10 songs of 2023 is… Miley Cyrus of course, with Flowers!

It’s no surprise really when you consider this was the number one most played track on Chordify for 5 whole months straight between February – June. It is such a catchy and accessible song – it’s understandable why so many of you out there can’t get enough of it. It features a simple, effective chord progression suitable for multiple levels of ability, and of course it has that memorable chorus hook, making for a great track to jam.

We hope you enjoy taking a look back at last year’s most popular tracks – you can check out the complete top 10 songs of 2023 below, and the special setlist here.
