Oldies but Goodies

Between R.E.M, John Denver, Oasis and Simon & Garfunkel, there seems to be a bit of a renaissance going on at Chordify, and we’re here for it! Seeing these legendary classics in the Top 10 never fails to make us excited. So, instead of looking at the Billboard 200 for your next setlist, why not kick things off with the iconic opening lines “Hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to talk with you again…”

Soundtrack Batman, Disney & HBO Pirates

A trend we observe over and over again is that certain songs experience a massive surge in popularity because they were featured in a movie or tv show. A perfect example of this phenomenon is “Something In The Way”. After being heavily featured in the new Batman movie, fans couldn’t get enough of the Nirvana track.

Another case of a piece of media heavily influencing the popularity of a song is the inclusion of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain.” Yes, we hear you: The song has been considered iconic for decades now, but it’s never before enjoyed so much popularity on Chordify. The track was also most recently featured on HBO’s smash hit tv show “Our Flag Means Death” and it struck a chord with viewers.

Then there’s Disney’s “Encanto” soundtrack, which has been praised by audiences and critics alike, and is also massively popular on Chordify. Both “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure” are featured in April’s Top 10.

Read the full list below to find out who else made the cut. Happy Jamming!
