The artist that without any doubt dominated January was Olivia Rodrigo with her break-up anthem “Drivers License”. The power ballad broke numerous records upon its release, and has already been dubbed The Big Pop Moment of 2021. It comes as no surprise then that she sang her way into almost every single Top 5 this month. January seems to be her month, since she was also very present in the Top 5 exactly a year ago with her hit “All I Want”.
There are quite a few fresh entries this month, such as Finn Askew’s “Roses” or Kiwi band Six60 with their single “Sundown”. Guitar aficionados will be excited about a surprise appearance by the Dire Straits with “Sultans of Swing”. The guitar solo has often been hailed as one of the greatest of all time!

Other than that, it looks like there is no getting rid of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper or Passenger. After all, would it really be a Top 5 without “Shallow” or “Let Her Go”?
